Petra L. Klumb
Klumb studied psychology at the Free University of Berlin and received her Ph. D. at the Technical University of Berlin/Germany. During her post-doctoral research as a member of the Berlin Aging Study group, she became interested in activities across the life course, social influences on health, and stress reactivity and recovery. She developed ambulatory monitoring techniques to measure activities and affects in daily life and the laboratory, and investigated individual differences in reactivity and habituation to social evaluative threat. Based on micro-longitudinal studies, she examined how certain activities influence well-being and functioning. More recently, her research group at the Department of Personnel and Organizational Psychology at University of Fribourg/Switzerland enlarged its perspectives to shared social environments investigating, for example, how the demands at work and in the family affect family an couple relationships, performance, achievement, well-being, and health.
