To our knowledge, there have only been scattered attempts made to investigate fatherhood, to this date. Because the few theorists on fatherhood could hardly draw their knowledge form comprehensive studies in the past, it has not been possible so far to delineate a complex theoretical frame for the psychology as well as the psychobiology of the father.
