Research areas of the CENOF projects and their interconnection
The projects of the CENOF Research Study collectively explore (1) social background variables of fatherhood, (2) bio-psychological mechanisms, (3) partnership quality (including parental stress and marital satisfaction), as well as (4) paternal behaviors based on time investments for the target child, interactions and relationship quality towards him/her. In both, Project V and VI, the associations between fatherhood and child development are investigated. Connections between fatherhood and inner-familiar contacts are explored in Projects III and IV, whereas extra-familiar contacts at work and during free time without the family are analyzed in Projects Ib and II. Thus, the CENOF Research Study provides a large collaborative area of research as well as three areas explored by two projects each.
